Help! can not intall xp, Critical error

Post by littlestone »

Hi, I am a newb to both ubuntu and vbox. I am trying to install winxp guest on my ubuntu 9.04 64bit host, when I start it, the virtualbox just pop up a dialog with title:Virtual box- Guru Meditation, the content is:'' A critical error has occurred while running the virtual machine and the machine execution has been stoopped''.
however if I insert the ubuntu install cd, the virtualbox can boot it
my virtualbox version is 2.2, my computer has 4G ram, and I allocated 1G to the guest OS.Also select mount from CD room. Anyone can help will be great. Thanks in advance.

"Critical error something" really says a lot.
Why don't you try again and write down what the error is and submit it exactly along with the amount of memory that you have in your machine and how much you are allocating to WinXP.

Also a little easy reading of this will help you as well as the forum ...http://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?t=8208
