Windows Screensaver & Monitor power save.

Post by billwill »

Running a Ubuntu Guest on windows XPpro: Virtual box or guest seem to prevent the Windows screen saver from invoking and consequently the Monitor does not go into power save mode when idle.

The ubuntu virtual screen does go to all-black after a short while, but Windows doesn't.

Strange,
Mine works as it is supposed to. Only thing is I do not have a screen saver running in the guest.
I never saw a point in it because the primary would do the screen saving.
Try turning off the screen saver on the guest and see if this helps.

I hadn't looked at the Ubuntu Screen Savers, I was just using the default black screen. Some of them are quite pretty :D

Anyway, now screensaver off and powersaving of guest for screen & computer set to NEVER.

now to see what happens...
