VM: Win2008 created with Virtual PC
Host: WinXP SP3 running VirtualBox 2.2

Everything was working fine until I attempted to add a shared machine folder. As soon as I selected the folder the VM crashed within VirtualBox. Now my VHD is corrupted and I get the following message:

Result Code: E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Component: Machine
Interface: IMachine {13420cbb-175a-4456-85d0-301126dfdec7}

This usually means a problem with the machine.xml file, make a new VM and attach this VHD to it.

Make sure the VM settings are the same as what you had before.

Attempted various configs but can not get past BSD. Error code always the same.

Try VBox 2.2.2 which has a fix for shared folders that might help.
