Limited connection on Win XP 32 host for Win 7 guest 32

Post by vijaymverma »

Hi,
I recently installed the Win 7 ( 7070 ) as guest on Win 32 XP Pro. The network worked flawlessly till yday. Since today, It shows as limited connectivity !!

I've tried to change adapters from Pcnet to Intel, but the efforts have been futile. It takes every adapter, but simply wont connect except the static ip, which I believe should not be a case on a 32 bit host.

I have similar setup on a 64bit host with all guests having static IPs due to the issues with Vista 64 bit host. Anyone else encountering these sudden network failures ?

I assume you use NAT for the VM. That is a known issue with 2.2.0. The DHCP doesn't work for Windows Guests. See the Bugtracker, report 3655 IIRC. If that isn't the one, search on google with NAT DHCP ticket site:www.virtualbox.org.
