Toshiba Dynadock and VBoxSVC.exe 100% CPU utilization

Post by capcom777 »

Hello,

I'm running VirtualBox 2.2.0 r45846 on a Windows Vista 64-bit Home Premium SP1 host. I've also installed the Toshiba Dynadock 2.0 utility for my Toshiba Dynadock DVI. When I start my 32-bit Windows XP Pro SP3 or 32-bit Ubuntu 8.10 virtual machines with my PC docked to the Dynadock, I find that VBoxSVC.exe uses up an entire CPU core. However, VBoxSVC.exe uses minimal CPU cycles when my PC is undocked and a VM is running, as well as when no VM is running, regardless of the PC being docked or not.

I read here (http://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?p=23861) that 100% CPU utilization may result when another program using sound is running when a VM is started. The Dynadock has a USB audio controller by which sound from my PC is ported to my headphones via the Dynadock, which may be causing VirtualBox to fully load my CPU.

Is this fixable by reconfiguring VirtualBox or the Dynadock? If so, how? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
ND
