VBox 2.2 - Different Soundcard for each Guest

Post by anostitz »

Hi

I´m currently planning in making a Multiroom Audio and Videoserver with VBox. It all started quiet good.
But now i bought the needed audiocards (usb-sticks) for the different room and tried to install it. But i get really choppy sound out from it when i install it in the guest natively. as i found out this is a known issue with no solution at the moment.

So is there a possibility to connect a guest with a specific soundcard on the host (so it does not use the default) ?

thanks a lot
arne

i use win xp as host and guests!

It's not a hardware solution, but if you have several computers, you can install PulseAudio (http://www.pulseaudio.org/) and configure it properly. Don't ask me, or anyone else here, for that configuration, but it is a work around. It might be possible to use several audio cards with one server, I haven't looked into that, as I have only one sound card. This is about the only thing you can do for multiple sound cards in VB.
Good luck.
