Getting the VDI to the other system is fine. Now all you need to do is replicate the exact same settings, so check the advanced tab and network settings. You need the MAC address of the interfaces too, as it will otherwise cause windows reactivation or loss of IP settings (if any). So if you have both systems next to each other, or the XML of the original system, you can compare those settings.

MAKE FIRST A BACKUP OF YOUR ~/Library/VirtualBox

If you have the same version of VB installed, then you can also copy the whole ~/.VirtualBox folder to the Mac as ~/Library/VirtualBox

Then you have to edit all xml files by hand:
1. Correct paths for VDIs
2. Correct XML version string: 1.x-linux --> 1.x-macosx

Lastly change your networking settings if you use host interface based networking...

This will give you the same VMs with all snapshots

MAKE FIRST A BACKUP OF YOUR ~/Library/VirtualBox

Check the sound system in the XML too. Disable audio on the source first, so that won't be an issue, hopefully.
