Deterministic Network Enhacer

Post by ItLothar »

Hi everybody,

I'm having lots of truble making Virtualbox and VPN (Safenet) cohexist because of the "Deterministic Network Enhacer" (?) they both use.

After I have installed one of the latest versions ov Virtualbox (2.1.4) the VPN doesn't work anymore: the vpn cannot access the virtual adpater and when I take a look at the windows control panel I see a new device - the "Deterministic Network Enhacer" - marked with the yellow "!" which refers (after looking at the proprierties) to a Sun device...

Only after unistalling Vitualbox I get the vpn back.

This didn't happen with previous versions (2.x.x) of Virtualbox.

Any idea why this happens and how to solve it?

Thanks a lot!

It's possible that the Host Interface driver is the problem. You can install VB without that option, but you will lose the ability to use your NIC for direct network access for the VM. So you will be stuck with NAT only for external communication.
