Hi,
I am running Windows XP-64 as host and Solaris 10/08 (x86-64) under Virtual box 2.2 using Bridged networking. All working ok (remote xterm, ping, internet connection from vbox, putty from windows to vbox etc) apart from when my modem temporarily loses connection.
I am using an O2 ADSL box for internet connection and it looks like every time there is a disruption to service on my O2 box, my solaris vbox session just hangs and can't be recovered. I have to terminate the vbox session and then start again. Is this simply working as designed or is there sopmething I can do to recover?
I've searched the forum and have not found anything that might help to recover from this.
Any suggestions welcome.
Thanks

Re: vbox hangs when network connection is lost
You can try to setup a second adapter as host-only and see if keeping a valid connection of some sort helps.
I have never seen this here so this is just speculation. I know my Solaris is really touchy about the network but can not test this right now due to other constraints.
