#3711: Installation of VirtualBox 2.2.0 failed
-----------------------+----------------------------------------------------
Host: MS Windows XP
Version: VirtualBox 2.2.0
Component: installer
-----------------------+----------------------------------------------------
After i had run VirtualBox-2.2.0-45846-Win.exe, i got a "Count not create temporary directory!" error message box.
I guess that was caused by my windows user name, which contains some Chinese characters.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Try running it with admin rights.

Does your Host support those Asian characters properly? Else you need to make sure that it does, or install it from an account with normal characters.

Many installation problems (not only VirtualBox)caused by security rights can be solved by http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9646979
described in article How do I restore security settings to the default settings?
It's correct security setting errors in filesystem ant in registry too.

Re: Installation problem - VirtualBox 2.2.0
I have resolved the problem. I changed to the administrator account and the installation processed to succeed.
But i do not think this problem is about security settings or accounts privilege.
It should be only caused by account name characters, because i know the setup program needs to decompress
some stuffs to the temporary directory which associate with the windows account.
Thanks a lot for your advice?
