The other trick is to put an entry into your
C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file. Something like:
. OK, you'll need to swap this when you get to work, but at least then you can use the local name in your URIs.

Yes but that will not work for other outside users, most companies have an internal DNS, thats where you need to get it listed.

Yup that's why I said local name. Clearly you need the VM registered in a directory service: DNS, WINS or A/D if you want it to be widely available, but the local hosts trick is useful if there are only a couple of you (e.g. in the same office and routing domain) wanting to use the service without getting your corporate Network people involved.

The thread above is ancient and outdated. Please start a new topic, and describe your problem properly.
To avoid confusion by anyone reading this: "host interface networking" was, in 2009, what we now call "Bridged networking". You should not confuse this with what we now call "Host-only networking". In 2009 "Bridged networking" did exist, but referred to an error prone feature provided by the host OS, the use of which we no longer recommend. Also, in 2009 I was a relative VBox noob, so don't treat my speculations of the time as having any merit.
