Unbuntu 9.04 RC on Windows Vista missing mouse pointer

I'm running Ubuntu 9.04 RC x86_64 as guest inside VirtualBox with guest additions installed on a Windows Vista host and the mouse pointer is visible during the logon screen, but once I log on, the mouse pointer is invisible. Also mouse integration doesn't work.

I installed the same version today, Xubuntu 9.04 rc on my Ubuntu 8.10 Host. After installing the GA, I had a double mouse. So I checked /etc/X11/xorg.conf and it was empty. I then ran sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg and added Driver "vboxvideo" in the video configuration section. After that, my Host cursor was gone and only my Guest cursor was left.
Now if the cursor still isn't visible for you, check my howto in the Linux Guests, as you might need the input device config too.
