I'm using windows 7.

I have tried using virtual pc, some other box and now i'm trying virtual box.

In xp i dont get any internet connection at all. So could anyone instruct me on how to set this up? I tried most settings but neither work, tried setting my ip manually but that doesnt work either, but i might be setting it wrong though.

And also when i try to install vista 64 it boots but then before the install start it gives an error message and make me reboot and then it just loops. Any suggestions?

Hello

I have had similar problems. After upgrading VBox to 2.2. my internwt connection stopped working.
VirtualBox 2.2.x seems to have a problem with DHCP and NAT. The solution that works for me is configuring the guest network manually as follow:
guest IP: 10.0.2.15
subnet: 255.0.0.0
gateway: 10.0.2.2
DNS: 10.0.2.3

See documentation (manually configuring NAT) for details.

I hope this helps.

For Vista, we need the full error. You're now saying "my car doesn't start", but you fail to mention if your battery is dead, you're out of fuel or you just didn't turn on the ignition. See the VirtualBox FAQ and Manual for what is needed for 64 bit Guests.
