hallo guys,
i've installed Vbox 2.2.0 on Windows XP host. When i installed it, it didn't ask me for Admin right. Now I want to uninstall it. According to the Usersmanual. The are two way to uninstall it.

First, use the "Add/Remove Programs" applet in the Windows Control Panel. But I didn't have admin right.

Second way:
"Unattended installation
Unattended installations can be performed using the standard MSI support."

How can I perform the second way. Does it need admin right?

Virtualbox definitely needs admin rights. There's no way you installed this as a limited user. Either youre using a different account or your IT deptment changed things when you werent looking. The only solution here is to get an admin account.

I am not sure if this helpful or not, but I too tried to uninstall and it will not uninstall.

If it helps I do have full admin rights to Windows 7 as my user account, I tried to uninstall via the control panel and it begins and the rollsback.

The event logs show this.

* Product: Sun xVM VirtualBox -- Removal failed.

* Windows Installer removed the product. Product Name: Sun xVM VirtualBox. Product Version: 2.2.0. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: Sun Microsystems, Inc.. Removal success or error status: 1603.

* Ending a Windows Installer transaction: {50A0F899-A8B3-42B3-8494-BFD8276C785B}. Client Process Id: 4700.

Where you can add/remove programs, Instead of clicking "Uninstall", click "Change". You're given the option to "Repair" or "Remove". Click "Remove".

Before i installed VBox 2.2.0, there is already 2.1.4 in my laptop. I didn't uninstall 2.1.4 but directly start 2.2.0, it didn't ask me for any admin right and finally successfully finished.
