Is there a way to uninstall 2.2 and return the the previous version?

I tried the following:
restored to Vista restore point prior to 2.2 being installed
renamed all the backedup XML files to the previous version

VB can now see all my old machines but when I try and boot them it says there is a file missing.

Similar problem. Installed 2.1.4. Then installed 2.2.0. Networking went bad. Tried uninstalling and it doesn't happen. No error messages or anything. This is on Vista Home Premium. And I also cannot uninstall the VirtualBox Host-Only Network

Had the same problem.
I did a repair install of 2.2. After that deinstallation was successful.
After a reboot I could install the version 2.1.4. Then I needed to delete the new XML files and to rename the backups.
