Video resolution problem in Vista 64 bit guest
Posted: 16. Apr 2009, 12:56
I'm using Virtualbox on Ubuntu Intrepid 64 bit, everything is great apart from setting custom video resolution in my Vista 64 virtual machine.
When using other guest systems (Linux, Windows XP, even Windows 7 beta) I can resize the VirtualBox window and the guest is fitting the video resolution smoothly.
On Vista, although the external window is resizing, the guest doesn't change the resolution to fit it. In Vista, I can only choose predefined resolutions 800x600, 1024x768 etc.
Of course I have proper video driver and other guest additions installed.
I tried VBoxManage videohinting but the guest seems to just ignore it (other systems obey the hints).
I'm using latest VirtualBox (2.2), the virtual machine is assigned 1GB RAM and 32MB video memory.
Any help greatly appreciated.
