Virtual Machines Paused

Post by martinrame »

Hi, I just downloaded Virtual Box 2.2 and tried to use my VMs created with 2.1.0 and can't. The problem is when I start any of my two VMs, a Windows 2003 and an Ubuntu 8.10, they get paused, it doesn't matter that I press Resume, the keep paused.

Does anoyone faced the same issue?. My host OS is Windows XP with SP 2, and my computer is a Dell Inspiron 1525 with a 1gb of ram, the machines are configured to use 512mb

I'll have to downgrade to 2.1

Probably the low mem bug, 2.2.1 should have this solved when released.

Known issue, will be fixed in next release. For now, limit the memory a bit for each VM, run less VMs at a time or downgrade back to 2.1.4. The machine config files have backups, so you can revert easily.

Is there any (approx) time table for the 2.2.1 / 2.2.2 "fix" release?

Even fixing some of the most urgent bugs (much less memory available for VMs, installation, networking/DHCP) in a quick release would be very welcome...

If you look at the release pase of the previous releases, you could say that they released a version about every month. So have some patience, there could be one in a few weeks. I agree with you that they should have a small bug fix release labeled 2.2.1, but that's not their policy. So we have to wait for 2.2.2.
