Windows XP aborts in VB 2.2

I just upgraded to 2.2 and have a serious problem. It seemed ok at first until I installed the guest additions. Now as soon as I try to do anything useful (e.g, load a file into MS Presentation) windows aborts. Details of installation:

Host: OpenSuse 11.1 64 bit, KDE 4.1;Intel Core2Duo processor; Nvidia vidio
Guest: Windows XP 32 bit

The windows vm has worked very well with the VirtualBox 2.1.4. Without the guest additions, the program is difficult to use! I would appreciate any hints on correcting the problem. I have tried removing and reinstalling vb 2.2 with the same result.

Need some more information please:

How much memory is on the host?
How much are you giving to the guest?
Did you turn on 3D in the guests settings?
Does the network work on the guest?

Thank you for the reply. Here is the requested information:

Memory on host: 4 GB
Memory for guest: I've tried both 388MB and 712MB with the same result
I've tried 3d both on and off in the guest with the same result
The network seems to work fine in the guest for internet access, but I can't see shared folders on the host at the moment.

I've tried a few other programs, and it seems that only powerpoint is effected. Even word seems to work ok. So maybe there's a problem with the Office installation, though it has worked fine within the last week, before the upgrade.

I would think that if it only a specific Windows program that is not working then it more than likely is not a VBox issue. Otherwise your guest would not work either. I would look at the windows software for issues that it might have.

Ok, I just reinstalled office2003 and powerpoint seems to work now. Very strange symptom that appeared right after I upgraded virtualbox, but apparently not linked to the new version.

Except my issue was with Outlook (still a part of office), but I am using Office 2007. hmm...
