XPsp3 can't install guest additions

Just upgraded from 2.1.4 to 2.2.0 on Vista Ultimate. Everything appeared to go smoothly.

I have two XP VMs. One with SP2, IE7, FF3. A second with SP3, IE6, FF2.

For the first, I removed the guest additions, restarted, installed the latest guest additions. No problems.

For the second, I removed the guest additions, restarted, and now every time I click "Install Guest Additions" nothing happens.

I'd search this forum to see if someone else has reported this, but apparently the search function is broken as it won't let me.

Anyone else run into this problem? Any suggestions for the best way to resolve? I've already tried restarting my VMs, VirtualBox and restarting my host system to no avail.

Just figured this out. Even though the snapshot manager said the image was mounted, it wasn't or there was some issue around it. I unmounted and remounted the guest additions ISO and suddenly was able to install them again.

Problem solved.
