The latest version of VirtualBox broke something with shared folders. Every time I try to add a shared folder it crashes the entire program (not just the guest VM).
Vista32 host

error R6025 pure virtual function call

As you found out, it's a known issue. Work around is to either type in the full path in the input box, or use the command line. Manually editting of the settings file can be done, if you know how to do that.
