Flash/Silverlight causes whole box to lock up

I upgraded from 2.1.4 to 2.2 yesterday and ever since then whenever I watch a movie in either flash or silverlight on my guest machine it, both my guest machine to completely "lock up" to where I can move my mouse but I cannot click anything it wont respond to the keyboard. My guest OS is Windows XP SP3 and the host is Fedora 9 with all latest kernel available kernel updates. Please let me know if there is any other information I should provide.
edit: It seems my host just slows down a lot but does stay responsive. Also I should mention that while the guest locks up, the flash or silverlight video continues to play fine.
