No network after upgrade to 2.2

Post by x_merlin_x »

Hello everybody,

I was using version 2.1.x on vista host successfully. Now I upgraded to version 2.2 and there is no hostadapter anymore available.
Within the network settings of vb I could only select bridged network, but vb does not give me a selection of adapters!
Is this a bug, or am I missing something?

Regards, merlin

Try to do a Repair Install of Virtualbox (starting the installation file, and click repair).
Helped for me (had the same problem)

After upgrading to 2.2, I have no internet on my Guest OS, now.
I have tried to repair, I have uninstalled & reinstalled, and I have tried another repair ontop of that.

I've gone into my Network settings for my VM and made sure it has the host-only adapter selected, and it does.
It's normally set to NAT, and I've also tried some of the other settings, and I can't access the internet from my guest OS (Windows XP)

There have been some changes to networking in VBox 2.2
You might want to re-visit the Users Guide and read chapter 6 again. If you use host-only you will need to setup a second adapter for the guest to get to the internet or select the bridged networking instead.

Same here. I tried everything and couldn't get it to work. I have downgraded back to 2.1.4 as it worked flawlessly for me...

I just wish you could disan;e to stupid prompt to update on program launch, as for now I will stick with 2.1.4.
