setting_a_specific_time_for_VM_or_VB

Hi,
I would like to experiment a little using VirtualBox as safe enviroment. I wish to set specific time for each Virtual machine or for VirtualBox globaly. I do not want to change time on hosting system, which is possible of course. I am using Windows Vista as hosting system and in VirtualBox I am running Windows XP as virtual machine.
Thaks for hints, advices or everything else.
Damien

Don't use the guest additions or shutdown the guest vbox service.

Perhaps this entire thread is a waste of time.
But I thought that VirtualBox is sort of a BIOS to guest OS (well it emulates hardware

, but never the less it provides the services of emulated hardware to virtual machine system - Guest OS ). So it's possible to set date&time in bios, and I would like to set date&time also in VirtualBox.
But i didn't found where yet.

The guest additions keeps the time in pace with the Host, so stopping that service you can set any time. the virtual BIOS is for most readonly so there's no point doing anything there.

What services and/or processes specifically do I need to shut down to achieve this? I have alredy tried VirtualBox Guest Additions Service, VBoxTray.exe, but it keeps synchronizing the time. Btw. I am setting the time via command line, but I don't thing that's the problem.

Ok only by uninstalling the entire VirtualBox Guest Additions Service 'addon' I was able to persuade windows XP guest system to think that the time is different. I am using the 2.2.0 version. If simply shutting down the VirtualBox Guest Additions Service should help, (not my case) the there is perhaps a bug in 2.2.0 version.
Anyway I found a solution for myself (at least a temporary one - maybe I will reqire something different in the future ).
