[solved] Permission denied on shared folders

Post by doctordruidphd »

I am running VirtualBox 2.2 on a kubuntu 64 bit host, with an Ubuntu 32 bit guest system.
The problem I am having is I cannot get the permissions set right in order to write from the guest to the host file system.
I can mount the shared folders, and read their contents, but I cannot write unless I sudo.
From the guest system, everything in the shared folder looks like it's owned by root, and the directory cannot be written to.
Any help in how to do the mounts on the host and guest would be appreciated.
Thank You.
