Test original games on guest Windows XP

Post by cobalt78 »

Hi

I use the guest Windows XP on my Ubuntu 8.10 64bit to test games. I am using the original game cd but when I try to run it the guest can't verify if the cd is the original. The access is ok as I can install the game but running it give me error on verify the original cd ?

I activated the direct mode to access the optic drive.

Thanks

You could try to create an ISO from it with the dd command. Read it's man page for more info.
Even if you get the game to see the cd as original, changes are slim that it actually works. The game probably uses DirectX, and that is not supported in VB.
