I've a AMD Athlon 4200+ X2 64bit, my SO is Windows XP 32bit, i've tryed to install a Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit on VirtualBox but when is starting the System it says that my system isn't 64bit...
Maybe is this a problem about mi primary SO (that is only 32bit)?
My scuses for bad english but i'm italian
Thanks

Read the FAQ about vt-x/amd-v BIOS issues.

Virtualbox cannot do this if your host is 32 bit. You must install a 64 bit OS on your computer first.
I would like to add one thing : VMware Workstation is able to run 64 bit guests under 32 bit hosts, as long as your CPU support Intel VT-x or AMD AMD-V. I have personally tried this myself previously. Of course, VMware Workstation is not a free product.

Same for VBOX. It should be possible, if requirements (VT) are fullfilled.
