VBox Manager suddenly refuse to start

Post by ronnys »

Hi!
I installed VirtualBox from the OpenSUSE11.1 rpm-package on OpenSUSE11.1 (Of course :-) )
It install ok and i could run it as a normal default user. Then i installed Guest OS and did several reboot without any problems.
Now after two days i can't start the VBox Manager from Program-meny anymore. It looks like its starting, but then suddenly quit.

Im very new to VBox so how can i troubleshoot this? It was working fine, but suddenly it refuse to start enymore. I tried reboot and recompile and restart of Kernel-modules.

I don't where they are but there should be some log files around, have a look in them, maybe they indicate whats going on.

Hi!
I did som testing and found out that i can start VBox Manager as root. That meen it was som issues with rights.
Then i found a Group called "Virtualbox Users" and added my user in this group. After reboot it all now work again!
