I am running Ubuntu 8.10, and have Virtualbox 2.1 from the deb here installed. Everything was working properly until I tried to run Vbox today, and nothing happened. If I run VirtualBox from a terminal, there are no errors, it just hangs. I searched the forum here, and found the other thread about a similar issue under Fedora, and VirtualBox would launch as root. However, with mine, I get the same problem with root as I do a regular user.

I've tried reinstalling VirtualBox without change.
