Jaunty beta Guest: Failed install at 'Detecting Hardware'

Hi,
I am running a Slackware 12.2 host with VirtualBox 2.1.4_OSE which successfully runs Hardy and Intrepid guests and before now several alphas of Jaunty Jackalope.
Installation of the new Jaunty beta as guest has repeatedly failed at the 'Detecting Hardware' point about 90% into the installation, leaving a 2.3 gig install, which does not boot, and an automatic reboot to a 'Live User' screen.
I am aware that this may very well be an Ubuntu issue but I was keen to ask on this forums if there was any way to get around this problem, and indeed if this is a known problem. I have also filed a bug-report with Ubuntu:

PS BTW I was a little miffed that my 'Primary OS' could not be given as 'Slackware'
