Converting MS-XP-Pro .vmdk to .vbi-Not working

Afternoon,

First let me say how easy to use and well put together this program seems to be. I have created one MS XP vm already with no issues. Now, however, is the issue I currently am trying to resolve.
I cannot seem to get any of the three different MS XP Pro VMs to run inside of Virtual Box.
I have followed the instructions in a few of the various links documented here and elsewhere.
Using the img tool (quem or qemm) to make a .bin image of the .vmdk file, then using the vboxmanager convertdd tool to convert it to a .vdi file. No errors are presented during the processes. Yet, when attempting to run the new file, either a blank black screen is presented or the old familiar windows selection to run windows normally, go to safe mode or....
If I select "safe Mode", it hangs at the mup.sys line and will just stay there for eternity...If I select start normally, just get a big empty black screen....
I have applied the mergeide fix as well as the disable the agp440 fix, both having made no apparent difference..
Base OS of PC:
OpenSuse 11.0 with current patches
VM is MS XP Pro, SP3, with no issues (other than being MS XP...:-)) VMWare WS for Linux, v6.5.0, Build 118166
Virtual Box v2.1.4

Any assistance is greatly appreciated...

Tony ...
