Can't install Guest Additions in Vista Business

Base OS: Ubuntu 8.10 x86-64
Hosted OS: Windows Vista Business x86-32

I'm unable to install the Guest Additions from Virtual Box (using 2.1.4 PUEL). Anyone know a work around? Oh, and no I don't have the virtual NIC working on the Vista virtual machine.

Also, I've seen articles referencing other links or the Wiki about how to get USB working in the hosted system, but no actual instructions other than modifying fstab which has been done and isn't working. I was afraid to start another thread on the topic, but a search actually didn't return anything. ???

Did you read the manual? what have you tried so far?
