No USB with OpenSuse 11.1

Post by aghamemnun »

I suppose this is a common problem although I have not found any thread in this board which solved it.

On my OS 11.1 system, I run VB 2.1.4. When right clicking on the USB symbol in the VM window (e.g. Win XP), the attached USB devices are shown as deactivated, and I cannot install or mount them to the VM. I already tried to change a line in the /etc/fstab:

usbfs /proc/bus/usb usbfs auto,busgid=1000,busmode=0775,devgid=1000,devmode=664 0 0

but this doesn't help.

Any further ideas what to do?

Check the VirtualBox FAQ. That's all you need. Don't forget to run sudo mount -a or reboot after the edit.
