(stupid question?): several nic's attached at ONE machine

hi
[I'm not very wellknown in theory]
on my server, I want to attach more than one nic.
If I do this, I get lines in warn_log:
Dec 7 22:20:45 xseries-xeon kernel: martian source 192.168.115.5 from 78.46.33.100, on dev eth0
Dec 7 22:20:45 xseries-xeon kernel: ll header: 00:09:6b:25:3a:37:00:06:29:50:01:2f:08:00
therefor until today there's only attached eth0.
my idea:
eth0 is for normal connections
eth1 especially for smb/nmb
eth2 for virtualbox:wxp-installation
eth3 for dsl-connection for wxp-installation
I have only one net here:
192.168.115.*
basic op.system: suse linux enterprise server 10 (2)
thanks a lot for some clearness and ideas.
