Stuck in Saving the execution state of the virtual machine..

Post by PenguinLust »

I decided to close a vm and save the execution state. Now the progress bar is stuck at 97% for 16 hours now, and I don't know what to do.

Same thing has happened to me a couple of times now, it seems to happen if I close down lots of other programs at the same time that the VM is closing, but i can't be sure.

In any case, just kill it, you don't really have much choice at this point, you will only lose the saved state, but the VM will be fine (well at least it has been for me)

That could well be the cause. I was closing another VM down at the same time. I guess the lesson is always close your VMs down serially.
I suppose I don't. Fortunately, the progress bar is at 97%, so I guess the only thing to do is cross my fingers and pray that the 3% isn't necessary to the functioning of the machine.
