I bought a digital graphic pen ODYS (usb), it run perfectly on a native windows xp system, I am ubuntu 8.04 user so I tried to make it run on a windows guest VM ( VirtualBox), the windows system detect it, but finally a device not found message appear on the screen.
In windows
In the windows device manager an error in human interface device appears.
In ubuntu
lsusb
Bus 002 Device 004: ID 0e20:0101
In VM usb manager

Re: usb device : Digital Graphic Pen
Did you get a software cd with it?
Re: usb device : Digital Graphic Pen
Yes, but this devices does not need especial driver to work, it must be detected
by the system (plug&play). The software Easy Note Taker manage the flow of data, between pc and pen.

Re: usb device : Digital Graphic Pen
I can confirm this. Linux detects it as HID device, and the mouse moves (though the sensitivity is very high). VirtualBox list the device among the USB devices, but XP doesn't seem to have seen it at all.

Re: usb device : Digital Graphic Pen
I'm having the same problem with (I guess) the same device.
Actually it's branded as "IrisNotes" (http://tinyurl.com/irisnotes) but I think it's the same, same vendorId and productId:
stefano@iceberg:~/Code/NoteTaker$ VBoxManage list usbhost
VirtualBox Command Line Management Interface Version 2.2.2
(C) 2005-2009 Sun Microsystems, Inc.
All rights reserved.
UUID: b1d4eea3-dde2-4dad-aad6-d2508eb6d9eb
VendorId: 0x0e20 (0E20)
ProductId: 0x0101 (0101)
Revision: 3.3 (0303)
Manufacturer: Pegasus Technologies Ltd.
Product: NoteTaker FW Ver 3.03
SerialNumber: 0003-0003
Address: sysfs:/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.1/usb3/3-2//device:/dev/bus/usb/003/003
Current State: Available
I have a cd shipped with it, after installing the driver it is recognized but then it doesn't work.
In the device manager I can see that some problems have occurred since it says "Unable to start device (code 10)" (please note that I'm freely translating from my native language, so the actual message might be slightly different in English).
carpasbo, could you post the exact message you get?
Side note: Under ubuntu it doesn't work except from some random movements if I click the button on it.

Re: usb device : Digital Graphic Pen
Same Prolem here. Works fine with directly installed Windows does not work at all with Windows in a VBox. Its the same "Not able to activate device (Code 10)" Message here. Tested it with Vista, XP, Win7 as Guests and VBox 3.0.4
