i would like to format my Guest (XP), but before that i want to backup some of my folders/files (around 3-4gb) , now currently i move all my files to my shared folder at my Host. And it takes couples of hours to finish.

If u in my situation what will u do?

I'd use Host networking and 'net use' directly to where I want to dump the files.
But you can always make a new VDI and use the current VDI as a second disk when the new VDI is up and running.

second dvi is not an option for me due to lack of hdd space...... i think for time being i need to adapt with the speed...
