Windows XP Guest aborting

Post by jasonpassow »

I am running Virtual box 2.1.4 on Linux Mint 6 64 bit. I have a Dell Inspiron 1420 with a dual core processor with hardware virtualization enabled and 4GB of ram. I have a windows XP 32 bit Guest. It starts and runs great. After some amount of time that is quite variable the system aborts for seemingly no reason. The end of the log looks like this

01:56:34.769 Guest Log: VBOXNP: DLL unloaded.
02:41:31.529 ERROR [COM]: aRC=VBOX_E_IPRT_ERROR (0x80bb0005) aIID={fd443ec1-0006-4f5b-9282-d72760a66916} aComponent={Mouse} aText={Could not send the mouse event to the virtual mouse (VERR_PDM_NO_QUEUE_ITEMS)} aWarning=false, preserve=false
...........snip (about 50 more of the above line...........
02:41:35.640 ERROR [COM]: aRC=VBOX_E_IPRT_ERROR (0x80bb0005) aIID={fd443ec1-0006-4f5b-9282-d72760a66916} aComponent={Mouse} aText={Could not send the mouse event to the virtual mouse (VERR_PDM_NO_QUEUE_ITEMS)} aWarning=false, preserve=false
02:42:25.816 TM: Giving up catch-up attempt at a 60021526377 ns lag; new total: 60021526377

The settings for the guest machine are as follows:

I have read through some posts but I am honestly not even sure where to start. Some other items that may be related (or not)

When I start the VM after crash it gives an error about host audio not responding. Running alsa force-reload on the host makes the audio work for VBox guest again.

I am not using RDP or anything to view the guest (anymore). It does not matter if I start it with VboxManage or from the gui.
