Use SATA-disk in Virtual Machine

Is it possible to use sata-disks in stead of ide-disks in a virtual machine ?

When I install CentOS now in a virtual machine I see /dev/hda and /dev/hdb...

I would like to see /dev/sda and /dev/sdb.

I would like to take screenshots of my Virtual instal of CentOS with sda and sdb, because in real life my harddisks are also sata-disks...

I run VirtualBox 2.1.4 on Fedora 10.

Provided the Guest has the drivers it should work, see the harddisk VM settings.

What harddisk VM settings do you mean ?

When I look at the settings for the hard disk( s ), I can only mark "enable SATA controller", and that's it for settings...

This setting is marked... but no sda...

See the manual, the first few IDE entries are not really sata, if I remember correctly as of entry sata-5 its really sata.

Yes indeed, I'm also checking the manual. Apparently I need to modify these first four with VBoxManage modifyvm...
