Usb periphericals with Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 host

Post by roberto.sartori »

Hi,
my OS is Ubuntu 8.04. I'm running Windows XP under VirtualBox 2.1.4 installed from "virtualbox-2.1_2.1.4-42893_Ubuntu_hardy_i386.deb" package. Actually I can't make any Usb peripherical to be visible to Windows, in particular i'm interested in making my usb printer (Epson Stylus Photo PX800FW) to be visible to Windows. I enabled Usb controller and added the filters corresponding to the printer but the usb list remains locked when Windows is running.
Notice that under Windows host the Usb peripherical list isn't locked and things works fine.

Is this a problem related to ubuntu 8.04? How can I solve this?
