Running non-Ubuntu compatible hardware on Windows XP guest?

Post by Durandal »

Hey

Im new to Ubuntu and to Virtual Box lol sorry

So i have Ubuntu 8.10 as the host OS and Windows XP Sp3 as a guest OS and it runs awesome, but the only problem i have is that i have a TV card tuner Tv @nywhere plus by MSI that doesn't work on Ubuntu (it detects something, yet no found new hardware or ANYTHING is shown...no application, setting or anything changes even if i plug it or unplug it).

The card is supposed to work on XP and it works on my mom's computer, but my guest XP does not appear to be aware of the cards existence.

Is there anything that could be done about it?
I have tried video4linux with no results and i could change to take XP as host but that would mean reformat hard drive...

Specs are 2.93 ghz intel pentium, 786 mb RAM

Thx in advance

See the VirtualBox FAQ for what a VM is. It won't see your PCI devices.
