Host opensuse 10.3, guest vista/w7, folder sharing

Post by tomar.sk »

Hi,

I've installed virtualbox 2.1.4 (PUEL) on host opensuse 10.3, along-with the guest additions. On one VM of xp-sp3 I can use the shared folder without any problem. But with exactly the same settings (for folder) I can not access/find the shared folder in another VM of vista or w7 (beta). Surprisingly, while the VM is running, the folder (with correct path) is shown when I hover the mouse over the button of the shared folder (bottom right of the VM, next to the usb devices). Possibly, I'm missing something trivial. I couldn't find any clue in the manual.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

You have the GA installed on all the VMs? Did you also try the command from the manual, net use x: \\vboxsvr\share?

Thank you again Sasquatch.

I had GA installed for both the VMs. However, I again misunderstood the manual command previously. Its working just fine now.

Thanks again.

Kudos for such a nice product, and helping newbies like me.
