Hi.
I just installed Skype 4.0 on VB but it crashes each time I try to execute it. Of course it does not crash on a non-virtualized Windows XP box...
HOST: Ubuntu 8.10
GUEST: Windows XP SP3
Thanks.
Best.

Re: Skype 4.0 crashes
Logs inside Windows? Event Viewer entries? Why run it in a VM, where there is a native version available for Linux?

Re: Skype 4.0 crashes
Where can i retrieve the logs and event viewer entries you're talking about?
I'm trying to see if my integrated webcam is perfectly virtualized... and I wanna try it using Skype.
Thanks.

Trust me, it won't be.Mac80Man wrote:I'm trying to see if my integrated webcam is perfectly virtualized... and I wanna try it using Skype.

You mean it would anyway be impossible to me to get my webcam working on virtualized WinXP?dmcgraw wrote:Trust me, it won't be.

Yes. If you search for webcam here on the forums, you will get countless hits, all explaining a black video instead of the actual picture. And if you wanted to test your webcam, you could have used another program. Media Player Classic and VLC can open webcams. Those programs will also show a black video, while they would show the actual picture on a normal system.Mac80Man wrote:You mean it would anyway be impossible to me to get my webcam working on virtualized WinXP?dmcgraw wrote:Trust me, it won't be.
For the Event Viewer, a google search would reveal to you how to find that.
