Creating a network with 2 Virtualbox XP and 1 Win server03

Post by pablito84 »

HI everyone!
I need help cause I've to simulate an internal network with 3 virtual machine, in 2 of each there is Win XP prof SP3 and in the other one there is Win Server 2003..
The host system is Ubuntu 8.10.. Ive created a network between the 3 machine and the pinging is right.. also with the host machine
The IP of all the machine are:
WinXP1 10.0.0.3
WinXP2 10.0.0.4
WinServer03 10.0.0.10
DNS 192.168.10.2
Default gateway 10.0.0.1
Host IP (ubuntu) 10.0.0.2
All the machine have the Host interface network configuration.. Now Ive to add the 2 winxp virtual to the server but i don't know how cause i try to do it trough the wizard but it doesn't work..
http://server_name/ConnectComputer from the WinXP machine give me:

I think your main issue is the DNS server. It will search on the net for the server IP, and will not return your own server's IP address. For the best use, change the networking of all the VMs to Internal Networking. That will put the VMs in a 'hidden' network, isolated from the Host. Only the VMs can see it. See the manual for more info on Internal Networking.
