Windows guest on a physical drive freezes at "starting up"

Hello !
I am trying to boot a Windows installation on a physical disk with Virtualbox

This is what I did :

VBoxManage internalcommands createrawvmdk -filename ~/XP.vmdk -rawdisk /dev/sda -register

This command was done successfully

After, I created a new Virtual Machine with VirtualBox and I selected my XP.vmdk file as a hard drive.

I checked the IO ACPI. I can't enable the VT-x/AMD-V option. I think it is because of my CPU which is a AMD64 on a 939 socket

Now, I tried to boot, I see the Grub menu and I select "Windows XP"
"starting up ..." appears and nothing else happens.

Please, do you know some issues ?

Are you using PIIX3? XP doesn't support PIIX4 and freezes on you.

XP does support PIIX4. It was added for compatiblity with VMWare, remember. And I have my XP VMs running on PIIX4 ;).
