Hi everybody,

I set up a Computer with Ubuntu 8.04 LTS Server and installed VirtualBox 2.1.4. After that i created a guest as a Windows XP SP3 as well. I wanted to change the Network Config from NAT to Hostinterface, but i don“t know how ?

I read a lot of manuals, tutorials,FAQ about TAP etc, but i dont find the right way to config my Network Interface.

My IP-Config:

HostIP: 192.168.28.75
Subnet:255.255.255.0
GatewaY:192.168.28.99

I hope anyone can help me !

Thanks a lot

Best regards,
Marcus

Open the VM settings, go to Networking and select the NIC you want to change. Now select Host Networking and select the interface you want to use. Once that is done, boot the VM. If you have a DHCP server on your network, you should get an IP from it. If you use static addresses, then set the Guest to use the same kind of IP settings as the host. All has to be the same, except for the actual IP address. That has to be different, else you will get an IP conflict and both machines won't be able to access the network.
