Hello,
I'm running UNIX guest on Windows XP host and as many others here I'm facing problem with high CPU load on the windows host when guest OS is idle..
Usually the CPU load on hosting WindowsXP is 20-30%
This WA, I'm going to describe step by step is decreasing the load into cca 4-6% when idle.
1. create dumy virtualmachine (no disk, no CD-ROM, no network, nothing required..)
2. run the dumy virtual machine
3. pause the dumy virtual machine
4. check CPU load
High CPU usage - my WA

Re: High CPU usage - my WA
How on earth did you figure this out?
Anyway, this works for me and I'm running VBox 2.2.2 on Vista SP1.

Re: High CPU usage - my WA
It is a known issue that running one VM can bump CPU use for no reason, running a second 'dummy' VM solves that cpu issue, though I haven't had this problem with just one VM.
