WinXP, BSOD

Post by nasa01 »

Hi,

I am getting IRQL_Not_Less_or_Equal stop messages at random times while running WinXP. I can usually generate it by running mediamonkey for some period of time. Additionally, WinXP has trouble writing to files....

Here's system info from log file:

I do have the VBox.log -- just not sure how to attach....

Thanks in advance

We prefer that you post logs to pastebin. Can you cause it with other programs other than media monkey?

Media Monkey is what I have been running when it crashes (it was rebooting prior to me killing that option). However, I have the writing problem with word or powerpoint.

Are you sure that is the full log? I don't see the status changes to stopping, terminating and destroying.

How are you using Media Monkey? Are you using it to play or edit your music collection from a shared folder? MS Office has some issues with the GA SF. Check if the WebClient service is running, and if it is, stop it and disable the service.

Yes,

That was the full log...

I am using MM to edit and play music from a shared folder -- that folder is actually a NFS share.

Webclient was indeed running, I have shut it down -- will test it this evening.

Thanks for the hints.

Then I'm pretty confident that it won't BSOD when you write to the SF.
