Real Network Interface as Virtualbox Adapter?

Hi!

I got a spare "real" Network Interface configured and running under Debian/Lenny. Debian only uses wlan0 to connect to the router above... is there any good way to make the second interface (wlan1) available to vbox...:
- without "bridging stuff"?
and/or
- so that both debian and my virtual vista connect to the router but not to each others?

At the moment i'm running virtualbox-ose (lenny) - can anybody tell me, if it was possible to access a wifi-stick directly over usb on the virtual vista (without even registering the adapter in linux) if i switched to the virtualbox (nonose) version with usb support?

Still reading manuals and figuring out how things work, but I could really use some directions here on what to look for.

thx!

You can use the interface directly since 2.1, so no bridges are needed. You can then set the interface configuration on the Guest. The Host doesn't need any config on it, only bring it up so it will start working.

If your second interface is a WLAN USB stick, just attach this usb device to your guest system.

REALLY??? You can now directly connect to a second network adapter? Yay! I remember asking about this like 6 months ago. I don't know how I missed this in the changelogs, but again YAY!

Thanks Sasquatch
