My fedora 10 starts up very slowly (about 2 minutes) using 2.1.4. Can this have anything to do with guest additions? Does someone has some experience in resolving this.

thanks
Peter

Is Fedora 10 your Host or Guest OS? If it's the Host, why did you install the Guest Additions?

Is there any way to debug this? I have an image that boots in 2 minutes on one startup, and then it takes 10 the next? No changes to the image between the boots. It is running a slightly modified 2.6.26 kernel, running Debian Lenny.

Are there any files that I should look at inside or outside of VirtualBox?

Could this be related to the Networking Card? Or the SATA driver? Is there any way to get more insight into what is actually happening on the system?

I installed the latest Guest Additions and I thought that fixed it, but then when I rebooted the host machine, the startup time shot right back up to 10 minutes.

thanks,
robert
