I am running Virtualbox 2.04 and would like to upgrade to 2.1. So my questions:
Is it worth it, our would it be best to continue with 2.04?
What is the best way to upgrade. Remove the old program and install the new?
Would I lose shared folder and such data if I renewed?
Thanks,
José

See the
VirtualBox FAQ. You can decide for yourself if you have any issues or want the added features. It's best to upgrade to at least 2.0.6, as that's the most stable of the 2.0 series.

OK... I get the point. No, it is not clear enough for me, but have decided to install a newer version the next time I do a clean install of Ubuntu.
thanks,
José

Ok, then I will explain. Settings and all will be kept, even updated to a new format if needed. Linux either does a removal of the package, or updates the files. If you upgrade to a newer major version (e.g. 2.0.x to 2.1.x), it's best to remove the version you have, purge it's config (your VMs will be kept, as they aren't stored in /etc) and then install the new major version.
